Is Linen a Sustainable Fabric?
When it comes to the question of sustainability, Linen is completely biodegradable and every part of the Flax plant can be used in some way or another. In fact, Linen is a much more sustainable fabric than cotton.
Unlike cotton which requires large land areas to grow and requiring the use of pesticide, the Flax plant can be grown on small plots of land without having to use environmentally harmful practices, which means it's better for the environment in general as well as our quality-of-life! The process also only requires about ten minutes worth water each day when growing compared with 150 gallons needed by one crop cycle with most crops (and this includes both rainwater and irrigation).
